Station Boutique has entered stage two of its transformation into a co-operative retail concept and is now accepting applications from local entrepreneurs who want to test their product in the local market. Such entrepreneurs may include: fashion designers, artists, jewelers, interior designers, architects, photographers, graphic designers, textile producers, authors, stylists and all other creative individuals who are looking for a collective space to sell their goods, network and learn from other creative professionals at a fraction of the cost of operating a full store-front.
Station Co-Op seeks to consistently offer a refreshing mix of stylish and unique products from emerging designers and artisans. Similar to a “shared workspace,” Station will offer the community unique, modern, handmade items by emerging local and regional designers, who rent boutique space for a nominal fee in return for their help in running the store. Each designer has their own mini-boutique within the store where they can merchandise and market their own lines.
In addition to offering a cost-effective sales method, Station Co-Op allows an expansion on the creative process for entrepreneurs, who might otherwise endure an isolating experience. Spending lots of time working alone in studios and workshops, often designers only get feedback during seasonal markets, at trunk shows, or from the occasional retailer. Station Co-op provides creative entrepreneurs a supportive peer community of fellow designers that offer support, camaraderie and valuable resources that help grow their businesses. It also lets designers interact with their customers in a vibrant retail environment that showcases their work among other professional designers of their caliber.
