Bio: Danielle is a strategist by trade, an explorer by nature, a socialite at times and a nerd at heart. She enjoys discovering the intricacies of communication and the various means through which she can tell the story of a brand, a person or a company. Having practiced ballet for the first half of her life and minored in art history, she has a genuine passion for all that is artistic and a knack for discovering the creative side to any organization. She has successfully landed placements for clients in such media outlets as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times, People, NYLON, Oprah and Friends, Good Morning America and Wired Magazine. Nonetheless, she never ignores an opportunity to work with a niche blog or independent media outlet, always keeping results-driven strategies top of mind. Bio: Melissa’s well-rounded skillset comes from her wide range of experiences in PR and marketing. She started off in pursuit of a journalism career, working for a sub-division of The Wall Street Journal, but soon found herself inside of a full-service marketing firm, where she was able to add digital marketing skills to her repertoire. From there, Melissa landed the coveted position of in-house publicist for Jenny Craig, Inc., where she spent two years creating public relations strategies, managing campaigns, overseeing a $1.5M budget and the external PR agency of record. With a host of contacts including those in business, health, lifestyle and celebrity, Melissa has secured coverage in such outlets as Consumer Reports, NY Post, The Wall Street Journal, People, UsWeekly, OK!, Life & Style, InTouch, NY Daily News, CNN, USA Today, AOL and Prevention Magazine to name a few. Melissa received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Purdue University. As the engineer behind social media campaigns, she pursues online campaigns and opportunities that drive solid awareness to Elle’s clientele and in her role as a publicist, she seeks top-tier placements through highly personalized messages. Prior to joining Elle, Dara worked with both national and regional public relations firms and also conducted marketing on the media side at San Diego Magazine, MTV Tr3s and The Guardian. In 2010, Dara received a double bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego in Communications and International Studies while participating in the public relations program at UCSD Extension. Bio: After graduating from UC San Diego, Kristen headed east to the Big Apple where she unintentionally found her love for PR in her first position inside a New York-based jewelry company. Missing the warmth of sun on her skin and the quality of life only California can offer, Kristen moved back to the West Coast and took a position inside a boutique firm representing such clients as Vanessa Bruno, Karen Walker Apparel + Eyewear, The Standard Hotels and St Kilda Jewelry. She simultaneously held freelance PR positions with R A E N Optics and The Doves Studio. Kristen’s strategic implementation has landed her placements in outlets such as InStyle, Cosmopolitan, UsWeekly, People StyleWatch, WWD, Elle, Style.com, WhoWhatWear, NYLON, Grazia, Thrillist, Foam Magazine, C Magazine, FabSugar, Cool Hunting and NBC, among others. Bio: As the official Elle mascot, Weylin is responsible for ensuring the floor remains clear of food and that there’s always a supply of bones on hand. He starts a typical day with a little brainstorming session about which desk to nap underneath, following by his project management duties (napping) and the occasional dip into the trash cans to ensure no good ideas have been tossed out. As man’s (and Elle’s) best friend, Weylin ensures a consistently happy demeanor around the office.
